About

Many friends have inspired me to begin blogging; I am sometimes in awe of how much insight is just floating around in the virtual universe, much of which never gets read. I am beginning this blog in January of 2009 in hopes that I might somehow contribute something of value to the ever-expanding blogosphere.

I don’t really have a general theme in mind for this blog, though perhaps I will find myself writing about the same topics after a while.

A special thanks to my influences. I tend to project myself as (and no doubt subconsciously want to be pieces of) any combination of the the following people at any given time.: Dr. Perry Cox, David Sedaris, David Foster Wallace, Chuck Klosterman, Jay Gatsby, Jonathan Swift, Jon Krakauer, Lance Armstrong, Chris Deyoung, Dave Matthews, Andy McKee, Chris Burns, John Dorian, Matt Carlson, Harry Potter, Dalton Ames, Fitzwilliam Darcy, Tiff Wood, Ned Delguercio, Robert Langdon, John Milton, Sam Spade, David Gutman, Trey Parker, Ivan Drago, Andy Anderson, Dave Sullivan, Dan Bikoff, John Keats, John Hinman, Dane Cook, El Presidente, Herb Brooks, Todd Gentry, Jason Bourne, Tyler Gardner, Billy Collins, Alduous Huxley, Santiago Botero, Madeline Rake, Ricky Bottini, Captain Yossarian, Mike Harley, Jonathan Moxon, Christopher Moore, Dave Eggers, Bob Green, Jamie Kersetter, John Berryman, Paul Behar, Marty McFly, Barack Obama, Maximus the Merciful, Kevin Smith, Van Wilder, Malcom Gladwell, George Hincapie, The Miller, Steve Martin, Royce Wisenbaker, Keller Williams, Zack Morris, Ben Folds, John Stewart, Guy Patterson, and Jesus.

I am honored to be a part of such an elite and comprehensive (a little too comprehensive for including Chris Deyoung) list of the truly great minds of our time. Not that I’m surprised, just honored.

I think my favorite person on that list is Drago. Anybody who puts that Russian influence on their list has my profound respect for life.

    I must break you.

I propose the addition of Scott Dempsey.
